Malakoff Chamber of Commerce is hosting The Malakoff Christmas Bazaar just in time for Christmas. If you have some last minute shopping stop by after the Christmas Parade or for the best selection come early. We will be open at 9:00 a.m. sharp so you can check out the goodies. The planets and stars must have been lined up cuz the weather was perfect for the Canton market. There were soooo many people looking for a treasure to take home. Is everyone else having heck with your header? Maybe it's just me. I am computer illiterate. This time it only took me 3 hours to get it "almost" just right. It's never perfect but till next time it is what it is. Now I have to get off of this thing and get back to scraping that awful popcorn ceiling down. I could use some help any volunteers? I'm in love!!!

Yep. It's true. I am in love with my new space at Dry Creek Landing. Maybe it's just the honeymoon period before reality sets in but for now I never want to leave. The ventilation is great due to 10 huge attic fans. The other vendors are just like family. Best of all it was dry, even when it rained. There was not a drop of water on the floor. Yahoo! I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Maggie and I worked like crazy moving in last month and of course we weren't ready when the doors opened. Our customers never said a word. They only had positive comments. We have the best customers in Texas. Thanks to everyone who came to wish us well. We look forward to seeing all of you at the August show. Now if I can get my pics to co-operate with me (that's code for I don't know what I'm doing ) I will post a few pics.

This little garden set went to Louisiana. Fresh from my yard to a new home.

Do you really believe this mirror belonged to Mary Kay Ash, the cosmetic queen? That's what they say.

I'm back from Zapp in Warrenton and had a great time. I got to see a bunch of my junk buddies and meet some new ones. The weather was perfect and fabulous junk was at every turn. Everyone was ready with their best camera smiles. I really have no excuse , even though I am trying to think of one right now. I DIDN'T GET ANY PHOTOS. Not even one little tiny one. I'm just no good bloggers just no damn good. However, I have seen the error of my ways . I have a new camera of my very own on the way. I don't have to share with anyone. I couldn't believe it ......NO WATER ON THE FLOOR AND IT WAS WARM TOO. The Civic Center was fabulous. I've been setting up in Canton for several years and this is the first time
I was ever warm and toasty in January. I'm never leaving. Call me spoiled but so is Maggie of the Veranda and Donna of Curious Goods and Susie of Black-eyed Susans, just to name a few. Yep Cowgirl shabby,rusty, crusty junk has come to the Civic Center. Come see me at the next show Jan. 28th thur 31th. Life is good.

The brick and mortar building is gone but I'm still around just like the proverbial
bad penny. You can't get rid of me that easy.
You can find me in the Civic Center. Call me a wimp but it's warm

The Junk Palace is still alive. I know you haven't heard from me. I have just been busy trying to get the Palace off and running plus doing Canton plus getting ready for Winnie and Tululas on top of ....... well you know the drill. Just too much too do and not enough time or energy O.K I've vented and I feel better! Now no more excuses. The Junk Palace has a new look that I wanted to share with you. I have a wonderful brother-in-law that cut out letters for me. I have been saving them for just the right sign and I think I have found it. I love ... love ... love ... my beautifully large crown. My husband thinks he is Mr. wonderful for hanging it and I do too. Now back to work on the inside of the palace. Things are changing for the Palace. I have a new location at Canton First Monday Trade Days.
I will no longer be in the same building with Maggie of The Fabulous Veranda. You can now find me at the Civic Center. Curious Goods will be set-up next to me. She always has cool junk. This will be her first experience in Canton. Come by and check on her. You can also find Melonie of The Seed Box. She has the best stuff. I want it all. My little Junk Palace store in Malakoff is going so well I really don't have time to do Canton every month. I do plan on setting up just a few times in the spring and in the fall. You can also find me at the Texas Rose in Roundtop this fall for the show there. I will be in the yellow and white stripped tent. I am really excited about that show cuz my little man gets to go with me. So girls he will be available to load those heavy and not so heavy things for you.

Come see me in Malakoff and the 10 other stores. Thursday - Saturday is the best time as everyone is open then. Thanks for checking on me.

Blogging Again Starting With A Secret

BLOGGING AGAIN YAHOO!
A little birdie was flying around Round Top at the best antique show ever and told me a secret. I try to keep secrets but I'm just no good at it, so here goes. Romantic Country was at The Yellow Rose taking tons of photos. The main attractions were Vickie of The Yellow Rose, Maggie of The Veranda. You girls know her set-up in Canton is always fun and funky. Becky of The Gypsy Rose also in Canton caught their attention too. If you want to find Becky just wave something pink with roses on it and she will be there in a flash. Watch for them , they may be in an upcoming issue of Romantic Country.
Maggie also had a visit from Debbie of Curious Sofa and Carol of Raised in Cotton. They took a bunch of photos too.
I heard the blog party was a success. Theresa of Garden Antiqus really knows how to put on a party. There was plenty of wine and cheese and fruit and veggies. Maggie said she was meeting bloggers she only knew through their blogs. There was a lot of hugs and kisses going on and they are all old friends now. Too soon she had to go back to The Yellow Rose and get back to work. I am missing all the fun but in October I will be there with bells on and truck full of junk. Hope to see you at The Yellow Rose!

My Girl Baily and Our Boy Bo

My girl Baily is doing great. Last Friday she waited till the nurses were changing shift and pulled the ventilator tube from her throat. She is so sneaky. It turned out to be a good move on her part as she is doing well now. We are hoping she will be home in just a few weeks. Now I can get back to some serious blogging. Photos coming soon ..... maybe tomorrow. Thanks again for all your prayers and concern for Baily and our family.

My Girl Baily Fawn

My Girl Baily is doing great. We are all so relieved. She should be out of ICU in about a week. They have removed one chest tube and the other three are soon to be history. As she breathes easier so do we. It has been a long three weeks and two days. She will be in Children's for a couple more weeks and if everything goes as planned rehab is next. Thanks for all your prayers and support at this time. We appreciate you remembering Baily with tons of e-mails, cards, and prayers.

The March Canton Trade Days are in like a lion and I hope out like a lamb as the old saying goes. The wind has certainly been ferocious. I heard glass breaking several times but as usual it did not keep the shoppers away. We were happy to see our friends once again and catch up on the last month. We have turned a corner. Baily is still in ICU at Children's but we are past the chance of loosing her. Her recover will be a long one but we are confident the outcome will be perfect. Thanks again for all your prayers and support though this time.

My Girl Baily

Just a short post to give you an update on my granddaughter. She is still in ICU at Children's in Dallas. She started out with the flu which turned into pneumonia. Her left lung collapsed and her O2 levels dropped to a critical level.When they tried to transport her to Children's Medical both lungs were flooded with fluid and her O2 dropped to 30% at that point they had to return to the ER in Athens.Children's sent for their ambulance which had a better ventilator and were able to transport her to Dallas. She is still critical but there is some slight improvement in her condition and her O2 is at 96% with the help of the ventilator. I can't say enough about The staff at Children's and the care they are taking with Baily. I was surprised and happy to see a Canton customer and friend who is a nurse in the ICU at Children's. I feel better knowing she will keep an eye on our girl. I just want to thank everyone for keeping Baily in their prayers. Your support means a lot.

Well girls it has been a fast and furious 2 days. I am one tired little chick but no slowing down. It's time to get ready for Canton First Monday Trade Days. I quess I will rest when I'm dead. There will be plenty of time then. I just want to thank Patti of The Delighted Heart for the good good good chocolate chip cookies and Deb of Talking Trash for the champagne to wash them down with. It was a great combination to top off the end of our first day. I also want to take this time to say thank you thank you thank you to everyone who came out to support my new venture. The Junk Palace is coming together. It's taking a lot longer than I anticipated. I really thought I would be ready by now. Boy was I wrong .... I just hope I'm ready by Saturday. Maggie will have a space. She will be here tomorrow to put the finishing touches on it. It's looking good. Some of you may remember Glynn that use to set up in Canton (next to Judy Hill in the Arbors) a few years ago. She still has junk in her blood and will have a space also. Working Everyone Like a Stepchild

Well girls it will not be long till The Palace will be up and running. I have worked everyone like a stepchild. Maggie of The Veranda is so tired she has begged me to stop cracking the whip. Thanks Maggie and Mike ( her little man) for all your help. My poor hubby is trying to avoid me for fear of having to hang something else from the 12 ft. ceilings. My daughter, Crystal, put in her time too. I had her on a ladder painting big blue swirls on the walls. She did a great job. Crystal's work is not yet done. We have a bed to put together and a chandelier that still needs something. All the loose ends will be tied .... I hope by Saturday. Please come if you can. We would love to have you. The Cat is Out of The Bag!

The cat is out of the bag. It's true I'm opening a store in Malakoff. Excuse me while I check myself for a temperature cuz I think I have lost my mind. I'm very excited and I am jumping in with both feet! All the loose ends are getting tie up. Right now I am waiting for the roofer to submit an estimate for repairs on the leaky roof, however I will be moving in after the next First Monday leaks or not. A little water doesn't scare me I have rubber boots and I am pretty sure I won't melt. I'm not giving up my building in Canton so if you can't make it to Malakoff you can find me at the First Monday Trade Days. There are 8 shop already in Malakoff and Black-eyed Susan will be opening a shop in January also. I will have a Grand Opening in January I'm just not sure when yet but I will keep you posted. Now for some before shots of my new shop. Sorry some of the shots are dark but I can't help it, I don't know what I'm doing. Don't forget Recycle at the Palace!

Cold Windy Canton Christmas

Wow!! Mother Nature was hard on us this month but we made another Canton Trade Days. We had a little rain , cold weather and a lot of wind. Can't wait till next month to see what she has in store for us. We did get to see some good friends and with a little hot coffee our spirits were warmed. The Christmas ornaments are packed away for next year but like Frosty The Snowman they will be back some day. Now I will concentrate on the home fires. Christmas Eve will be here before we can say Rudolph!! Here are a few photos if you didn't get a chance to visit with us last week-end.

How about using curtian tie backs for Christmas ornaments?

Pull off your shoes and put your feet up. It's time to recharge after a wild week-end in Canton. I think I will just be couch potato for a couple of days . I am one tired girl. The shopper were out in full force buying Christmas decorations and getting an early start on their Christmas list. First Monday is the best place to shop for Christmas. There is such a wide selection to choose from. If you missed it here are a few photos.
